Shine Your Light staff have over 25 years experience as educators and school reformers around the world. We train, coach, and facilitate directors, administrators, teachers, parents, board members, and students at charter public schools, regular public schools, and private schools, grades preK-12. Our specialties include school start-up and renewal; aligning mission, outcomes, and assessments; school governance; strategic planning; sticky personnel issues; team building; communication and conflict management; work-life balance; and parent involvement and concerns.

SPOTLIGHT: FROM BURNOUT TO BURNING BRIGHT: ANTIOCH CHARTER ACADEMY

Antioch Charter School is one of the oldest, most respected, successful K-8 charter schools in California . . . and the dedicated staff were exhausted. Their leaders asked Shine Your Light if we could do a customized workshop and staff retreat on work-life balance, which we called “Walk the Line.”

Three years later, the staff are not only refreshed, but innovating once again. A team of four ACA administrators and lead teachers attended SYL’s Experiential Learning Leadership Intensive to deepen and expand their hands-on science program and other real-life learning. They met nonstop throughout the training, emerging with a creative, engaging plan.

We are proud of the progressive and powerful educational experiences ACA has been offering public elementary school students for the past two decades. We’re eager to stay in close touch with their exciting work ahead!
